Bidet Removal
About This Project
A high-level outline for uninstalling a bidet, including shutting off water, disconnecting supply lines, removing the bidet seat/attachment, and preparing the toilet for reassembly or alternative use.
Steps
Disconnect Bidet Supply Line
5 minutesWith the water supply shut off, place a small towel or bucket beneath the bidet's water supply line connection. Unscrew the coupling nut connecting the bidet's flexible hose to the toilet's fill valve or the water supply line adapter. Some residual water may drip out, which is why the towel or bucket is useful.
Remove Bidet Seat or Attachment
10 minutesMost bidet seats are secured to the toilet bowl by mounting brackets. Look for mounting bolts, usually located under the rear of the toilet seat. You may need to slide the bidet seat forward to release it from the mounting plate, or you may need to unscrew nuts from underneath the toilet rim. Refer to your bidet's manual for specific removal instructions if needed.
Clean Mounting Area
10 minutesOnce the bidet is removed, you will likely find soap scum, water deposits, or residue on the toilet bowl and the mounting area. Use a toilet bowl cleaner and a sponge or cloth to thoroughly clean these surfaces. Rinse well to remove any cleaning product residue.
Reinstall Original Toilet Seat (if applicable)
10 minutesIf you are reverting to a standard toilet seat, align the new or original seat's mounting posts with the bolt holes on the toilet bowl. Insert the bolts from the top and secure them with nuts from underneath. Ensure the seat is stable and does not wobble.
