Step 4 · Sand the Repaired Area
After the patching material has fully cured, use fine-grit sandpaper or a sanding sponge to carefully sand the repaired area. The goal is to create a smooth, seamless transition between the patch and the original drywall. Sand in a circular motion, applying light pressure. Periodically wipe away dust with a damp cloth and check the surface by feel to ensure it's flush with the wall. Be careful not to over-sand, which can create a depression.
