Step 4 · Step 4: Find the Total Rise of the Turn

For the group of turning stairs, measure the total vertical height, or 'rise'. Start your tape measure at the floor level of the bottom landing and extend it straight up to the floor level of the top landing of that section. This single measurement helps us understand the overall geometry of your turn. Write it down.
