Secure Tread with Fasteners — Reinforce for Maximum Stability (Optional but Recommended)
Part of project
Stair Tread Installation · Step 7 of 8
In this video
With the tread firmly seated on the adhesive, a pneumatic nail gun (Paslode brand is shown) is used to fasten the tread permanently. Nails are driven through the front edge of the tread into the underlying ledger/riser structure. Additionally, nails (or screws, as mentioned by the presenter) are installed from the back of the riser into the back edge of the tread to create a robust and squeak-free connection. This dual fastening method ensures maximum stability.
