Before installing each piece, generously apply a specialized wood flooring adhesive, such as Bostik's Best, to the clean stair subfloor. Use a notched trowel to spread the adhesive evenly across the surface. The notched trowel creates ridges that ensure adequate adhesive transfer and proper bonding when the wood is laid. Apply enough adhesive to cover the entire area where the new wood tread or riser will sit.
