Caulk and Finish Seams — Add the Finishing Touches
Part of project
Stair Tread Installation · Step 8 of 8
In this video
Once the adhesive has fully cured, remove all blue painter's tape. Apply a small bead of caulk to any visible seams between the riser and the tread, and along the side stringers if needed. Spray the freshly applied caulk lightly with a mixture of water and denatured alcohol (or soapy water). This prevents the caulk from sticking to surfaces you don't want it to. Smooth the caulk with your finger, then immediately wipe away any excess with a damp rag for a clean finish.
