Final Curing and Room Reset — Step 6: The Final Cure for Long-Term Protection
Part of project
Apply Finish to Stair Treads · Step 6 of 6
In this video
Once the final coat of wood floor finish has been applied, it's crucial to allow the floor sufficient time to fully cure. While the floor may be dry to the touch within a few hours (as shown by the glossy, dry appearance at the end of the video), it typically takes several days, often 24 to 72 hours, for the finish to achieve its full hardness and chemical resistance. During this curing period, avoid placing heavy furniture, rugs, or walking on the floor with shoes. The final appearance should be a uniform, glossy, and protective surface, as demonstrated at the end of the video.
